South Walton Earns No. 1 Seed, Opens FHSAA State Playoffs Wednesday vs. Suwannee
Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. — October 18, 2025
South Walton Volleyball has secured the No. 1 seed in the FHSAA Class 4A Region 1 bracket, closing an 18–7 regular season that included a 2–0 district record and the program’s sixth consecutive district championship. The Seahawks will open regional play Wednesday, October 22, at home against No. 8 Suwannee (Live Oak) in the FHSAA Girls Volleyball State Championships.
The pairing positions South Walton at the top of one of the state’s most competitive regions, with potential matchups including Bay (Panama City), Yulee, Bishop Kenny, and Wakulla deeper in the bracket. The opening-round matchup marks the program’s sixth straight postseason appearance under Head Coach Meaghan Allen.
South Walton enters the postseason at 18–7 overall, 7–2 at home, and first in 4A District 1. The Seahawks closed the regular season on a four-match win streak, emphasizing balance, defensive stability, and tempo control across rotations. Suwannee, the Region 1 No. 8 seed, enters at 10–17 overall and 0–2 in 4A District 2, representing a first-round test for a South Walton team that has faced multiple upper-classification opponents throughout the fall.
