Top-seeded South Walton opened the FHSAA Class 4A Region 1 playoffs with total command Wednesday night, sweeping No. 8 Suwannee (Live Oak) 3–0 (25–11, 25–11, 25–5) inside the Seahawks’ home gym. Junior outside hitter Maci Jones led the attack with 18 kills on 30 swings for a .467 hitting percentage, adding 7 digs, 2 aces, and 1 block assist. The performance pushed Jones past the 400-kill milestone for the season, marking another statistical benchmark in her standout junior campaign.
Senior outside hitter Jordyn Swift added 15 kills while hitting .619, converting at a near-perfect clip through the middle two sets to keep the offense balanced. Junior setter Evelyn Brandman distributed 40 assists and added 5 digs while serving at a 93.8 percent rate with 4 aces. Her tempo control kept Suwannee off balance, allowing South Walton to side out at a 76 percent clip.
Defensively, senior libero Kamryn Garcia anchored the back row with 15 digs and 6 perfect serve-receive passes, posting an 85.7 reception percentage. Senior defensive specialist Annabelle Centeno added 2 perfect receptions and steady rotation coverage, while junior Lindsay McMahan handled 3 serve receptions cleanly to sustain system consistency.
At the service line, the Seahawks combined for 15 aces as a team, led by Brandman (4), Jones (2), Swift (1), Centeno (1), Ella Driggers (2), and Ava Hummel (1). Driggers also contributed 7 kills with a .313 efficiency, continuing her postseason emergence.
South Walton’s defensive structure forced Suwannee into negative hitting efficiency, holding the Bulldogs to just 5 points in the final set. The Seahawks improved to 8–2 at home this season and extended their postseason winning streak to six consecutive sets.
