South Walton Sweeps Fort Walton Beach for Tenth Straight Victory
SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. — South Walton volleyball extended its winning streak to ten matches Tuesday night, sweeping Class 4A district opponent Fort Walton Beach 3–0 (25–15, 25–13, 25–17). The victory pushes the Seahawks to 13–6 on the season.
Junior outside hitter Maci Jones paced the attack with 12 kills and 9 digs. Sophomore middle blocker Ava Hummel delivered her best performance as a Seahawk, finishing with 9 kills on 13 attempts (.462) and a block to highlight the night. Senior middle blocker Jordyn Swift added 6 kills, while senior outside hitter Ella Driggers chipped in 5.
Junior setter Evelyn Brandman kept the offense in rhythm with 28 assists and 3 aces. At the service line, South Walton spread the pressure with 3 aces each from Brandman, Driggers, Swift, and junior Colbie Winters.
Defensively, senior libero Kamryn Garcia posted 9 digs to anchor the back row, joined by Jones (9) and Winters (6).
As a team, South Walton recorded 37 kills, 33 digs, 28 assists, 13 service aces, and 1 block in the sweep. The Seahawks have now won ten straight matches, including back-to-back tournament titles and key victories over 6A competition.
