South Walton Goes 4–0 at Bulldog Invitational in Crestview
SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. — South Walton volleyball continued its surge on Saturday with a 4–0 sweep at the Bulldog Invitational in Crestview. The Seahawks defeated 3A Destin (2–0), 6A Crestview (2–1), 6A Tate (2–1), and 4A district opponent Pensacola (2–0) to improve to 12–6 on the season.
The Bulldog Invitational extended South Walton’s winning streak to nine matches, a run that began with a 4–0 championship performance at the Tribe Invitational and continued with a four-set victory over 5A Choctawatchee earlier in the week.
Junior outside hitter Maci Jones became the Seahawks’ all-time kills leader during the tournament and now leads the program this season with 288 kills. Together with Evelyn Brandman, who recently became the school’s all-time assists leader, Jones is part of a junior duo rewriting the South Walton record book. Jones has also added 23 service aces and 152 digs through 18 matches. Senior middle blocker Jordyn Swift continues to deliver elite efficiency, producing 160 kills at a .457 hitting percentage while anchoring the net with 31 total blocks.
Brandman has been prolific in directing the attack, surpassing 500 assists on the year and now totaling 512 with 29 aces. Senior outside hitter Ella Driggers provides consistent scoring on the pin with 103 kills and 22 aces, while junior opposite Corinne O’Connell has chipped in 39 kills and 15 blocks to complement the front line.
Defensively, senior libero Kamryn Garcia leads the Seahawks with 174 digs and 14 aces from the service line. Senior defensive specialist Lindsay McMahan has added 49 digs, 23 assists, and 3 kills, while junior Macey Waldrop has contributed 11 digs and 7 assists in steady rotational play. Sophomore middle blocker Ava Hummel adds balance in the middle with 15 kills and 11 blocks this season.
As a team, South Walton has totaled 648 kills, 624 assists, 705 digs, and 83 blocks through 18 matches, showing balance across the roster.
Up next, the Seahawks continue district and regional play with the confidence of a 12–6 record and nine consecutive wins.
