South Walton Sweeps 6A Opponent Pace to Open Season
SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. – August 19, 2025 – The South Walton Seahawks volleyball team opened their 2025 campaign with authority, sweeping 6A opponent Pace 3-0 in their season opener.
Junior outside hitter Maci Jones powered the Seahawks attack with 14 kills on 40 swings, while junior setter Evelyn Brandman distributed the offense with 32 assists. Senior middle blocker Jordyn Swift provided an efficient offensive spark, posting 11 kills on 20 attacks for a .500 hitting percentage.
South Walton displayed balanced offensive production with contributions throughout the lineup. Senior libero Kamryn Garcia led the defensive effort with 22 digs, while senior outside hitter Ella Driggers contributed 7 kills and 4 service aces. The Seahawks attack was further supported by junior opposite hitter Corinne O'Connell with 6 kills and the depth of their middle blocking rotation.
The commanding sweep showcased the Seahawks' depth and balance across all phases of the game, with strong serving and efficient offensive execution setting the tone for the 2025 season.
The victory moves South Walton to 1-0 on the young season. The Seahawks will next travel to face 5A opponents Chiles and Beachside in a tri-match format.
About South Walton Volleyball: South Walton High School competes in FHSAA Class 4A District 1 under head coach Meaghan Allen. The program has established itself as a consistent playoff contender, reaching the Class 4A Elite 8 last season and winning five straight district championships since 2019.
