South Walton Defeats 5A Choctawatchee in Four Sets

SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. — South Walton volleyball continued its strong play following last weekend’s Tribe Invitational championship, defeating Class 5A Choctawatchee 3–1 (12–25, 25–19, 25–20, 26–24) on Wednesday night.

Senior middle blocker Jordyn Swift powered the attack with 16 kills on 35 attempts while adding 3 blocks. Junior outside hitter Maci Jones recorded a double-double with 25 kills and 18 digs, leading the Seahawks in both categories.

Junior setter Evelyn Brandman guided the offense with 48 assists and added 7 digs and 2 service aces. In the back row, senior libero Kamryn Garcia steadied the defense with 16 digs.

Supporting contributions came from junior opposite Corinne O’Connell (2 kills, 3 blocks), sophomore middle blocker Ava Hummel (3 kills, 2 blocks), and senior outside hitter Ella Driggers (8 kills). Senior defensive specialist Lindsay McMahan added 3 kills and 4 digs.

As a team, South Walton tallied 58 kills, 48 assists, 58 digs, 9 blocks, and 9 aces to secure their 12th victory of the season.

Up next, the Seahawks travel to the Bulldog Invitational for another key test in tournament play.
