South Walton Volleyball’s 2025 campaign came to a close in the FHSAA Class 4A State Semifinals at Polk State College, falling to Merritt Island 3–1 (22–25, 25–19, 23–25, 20–25). The Seahawks answered an opening-set loss with a composed second set, battled point for point in the third, and came up short late in the fourth against a veteran Mustang group.

Junior outside hitter Maci Jones led all attackers with 23 kills and added 12 digs. She finished her junior season as South Walton’s single-season record holder with 488 kills and became the program’s all-time career kills leader after surpassing 1,000 during the playoff run. Across the season, Jones also recorded 282 digs, 49 aces, and 34 blocks while hitting .279 over 92 sets.

Junior setter Evelyn Brandman guided the offense with 41 assists and 22 digs. She totaled 895 assists on the year, setting the South Walton single-season record for assists while breaking her own career mark by crossing 2,000. Brandman added 49 aces and 244 digs across 91 sets, anchoring one of the most balanced attacks in program history.

Senior middle blocker Jordyn Swift added 13 kills and four blocks in the semifinal and closed the season with 288 kills, a .479 hitting percentage, and 46 total blocks, setting the South Walton single-season record for hitting percentage. Senior outside hitter Ella Driggers tallied 13 kills and six digs in the match and finished the year with 133 kills, 177 digs, and 44 aces. Senior defensive specialist Annabelle Centeno contributed 13 digs, closing her career with 75 digs and 14 aces in limited sets while providing steady serve receive throughout postseason play.

Senior libero Kamryn Garcia anchored the defense with 14 digs in the semifinal and finished her senior season with 287 digs, 37 aces, and 95 successful serve receptions. Junior defensive specialist Lindsay McMahan added eight digs in the match and finished with 81 digs across 74 sets, giving South Walton crucial depth in the back row.

The Seahawks’ 21–8 season featured a district championship, a regional title, and the program’s first state semifinal appearance in a decade. Along the way, South Walton earned a historic home win over Bishop Kenny in the regional final to secure its return to the state stage. Jones, Brandman, and Swift each finished the 2025 season ranked No. 1 in Florida Class 4A in kills, assists, and hitting percentage respectively, and all three ranked within the top ten statewide across all classifications.

Senior Class Spotlight
South Walton’s four seniors — Jordyn Swift, Ella Driggers, Annabelle Centeno, and Kamryn Garcia — leave an enduring legacy of production and leadership.

Jordyn Swift closed a four-year varsity career with 647 kills, a .376 hitting percentage, 161 total blocks, and 204 aces across 344 sets. Her 2025 campaign set the program’s single-season hitting-percentage record (.479) and capped one of the most complete middle-blocker careers in school history.

Ella Driggers, a two-year starter, finished her career with 247 kills, 145 digs, 74 aces, and 17 blocks across 141 sets, providing reliable offensive output and strong serving consistency.

Annabelle Centeno completed her lone varsity season with 75 digs and 14 aces, contributing steady defensive presence and serve-receive stability throughout postseason play.

Kamryn Garcia concluded a four-year starting career as South Walton’s defensive cornerstone, totaling 796 digs, 1,055 serve receptions, and 104 aces across 313 sets. She established herself as one of the most impactful liberos in program history through consistency, leadership, and precision in the back row.

Next Wave and Returning Core
South Walton returns a talented foundation for 2026. Junior setter Evelyn Brandman and junior outside hitter Maci Jones headline the offense. Junior defensive specialist Lindsay McMahan will anchor serve receive, while junior opposite hitter Corinne O’Connell (95 kills, 76 digs) and sophomore middle blocker Ava Hummel (50 kills, 17 blocks) add reliable front-line strength. Junior middle Laurali Douglass appeared in 13 matches with efficient production at the net, and sophomore outside hitter Macey Waldrop contributed key depth in both rotations. Sophomores Bianca Savi and Molly Mentzel, along with freshman Henley Beauchamp, gained valuable varsity experience that strengthens South Walton’s depth moving forward.

The program extends deep gratitude to its senior class for elevating the standard, and to its coaching staff, parents, and school support community for their continued dedication to South Walton Volleyball.
