South Walton Breaks Through Bishop Kenny to Win 4A Region 1 Title and Return to State Final Four

Santa Rosa Beach, FL – October 29, 2025

In front of a packed crowd at the Hawks Nest, South Walton Volleyball delivered a signature postseason performance Wednesday night, defeating Bishop Kenny 3–1 (17–25, 25–20, 25–12, 25–20) to capture the FHSAA Class 4A Region 1 Championship and return to the State Final Four. The win ended South Walton’s four-year Elite 8 losing streak to Bishop Kenny and set a new standard for the program.

Junior setter Evelyn Brandman led the Seahawks with 39 assists and 17 digs, surpassing 2,000 career assists during the match. Junior outside hitter Maci Jones turned in a dominant performance with 33 kills and 20 digs, providing consistent firepower and poise in high-pressure moments. Senior middle blocker Jordyn Swift added 8 kills and 3 blocks, anchoring the front line and bringing veteran stability to the championship stage.

Senior outside hitter Ella Driggers continued her strong postseason with 6 kills, 9 digs, and 94% serving efficiency, while senior libero Kamryn Garcia added 13 digs and 3 aces. Senior defensive specialist Annabelle Centeno provided 7 digs and an ace, junior opposite Corinne O’Connell contributed 2 kills and 2 blocks, and junior defensive specialist Lindsay McMahan added key defensive support in back-row rotations. Junior Laurali Douglass and junior Macey Waldrop each added valuable minutes in rotation.

South Walton improves to 21–7 overall and advances to the FHSAA Class 4A State Semifinals, where the Seahawks will face Merritt Island on Friday, November 7, at Polk State College in Winter Haven. The regional championship represents the Seahawks’ latest step in a sustained run of postseason success under head coach Meaghan Allen.
