SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. – September 10, 2025 – South Walton went on the road Wednesday night to face Class 6A powerhouse Gulf Breeze, falling 3–0 (25–21, 25–20, 25–20). The Seahawks pushed the Dolphins in each set, staying within striking distance throughout the match.
Junior outside hitter Maci Jones led the way with 16 kills and 9 digs, continuing to pace the South Walton attack. Senior outside hitter Ella Driggers added 7 kills and 5 digs, while senior middle blocker Jordyn Swift contributed 6 kills and 3 blocks.
Junior setter Evelyn Brandman dished out 28 assists and picked up 7 digs in the effort. With those assists, she is now tied for the program’s all-time record of 1,420 career assists. Her first assist in Monday’s rematch with Gulf Breeze will move her into sole possession of the top spot in South Walton history.
Senior libero Kamryn Garcia anchored the back row with 10 digs and a team-high 7 serve-receptions. Senior defensive specialist Annabelle Centeno chipped in 2 digs in limited action.
Despite the sweep, the Seahawks kept the score close in every set, forcing extended rallies and pushing Gulf Breeze point-for-point until late runs decided the difference.
South Walton will return home on Monday for a rematch with Gulf Breeze in Santa Rosa Beach.
