Brandman Closing in on Wood’s Career Assists Record

SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. – September 6, 2025 – South Walton junior setter Evelyn Brandman is on the verge of rewriting the Seahawk record book, closing in on the career assists mark held by former standout Kenlee Wood.

Wood finished her career with 1,420 assists, the most in program history, along with the single-season record. Her impact was measured in both numbers and moments, as she ran the South Walton offense with vision and precision. From 40 and 50-assist nights against large-school competition to steady distribution in the postseason, Wood set the standard for setter excellence and helped guide the Seahawks to their first Class 4A Elite 8 appearance.

Through just over two seasons, Brandman has already compiled 1,350 career assists in 192 sets. At her current pace of 7.0 assists per set, she is expected to surpass Wood’s mark within the next three to four matches.

What makes Brandman’s rise significant is not only the pace of her climb, but also the way she commands the floor. She orchestrates the offense with creativity, disguises sets to keep blockers guessing, and finds ways to put her hitters in the best positions to score. Relentless in competition and respected as one of the team’s strongest leaders, Brandman has emerged as both the distributor and the tone-setter for the Seahawks.

Her chase is about more than numbers. It reflects the continuation of South Walton’s tradition of setter excellence, proving that Brandman belongs among the most impactful players the program has ever produced.
