LYNN HAVEN, Fla. - August 25, 2026 - South Walton walked into one of the Panhandle's toughest road gyms Tuesday night and walked out with a five-set victory, outlasting 5A Mosley 3-2 (20-25, 26-24, 25-22, 19-25, 15-8). Playing without senior outside hitter Maci Jones, the Seahawks dropped the opening set, saved the second at 26-24, and ran away with the fifth 15-8 to improve to 3-1.

Senior outside hitter Sydney Downing, a College of Charleston beach volleyball commit, delivered the biggest night of her young Seahawk career with 19 kills on .205 hitting, 4 aces, and 11 digs. Senior Corinne O'Connell shouldered a career-high workload beside her, hammering 13 kills on 57 swings with 3 aces and 15 digs.

As a team, South Walton finished with 50 kills, 47 assists, 67 digs, 14 aces, and those 20 blocks in the five-set win, a night defined by depth against a program that has tested the Seahawks for years.
