South Walton Volleyball Introduces Sammy Emerald (SAMI), AI Sports Information Director
SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. – South Walton High School Volleyball has announced the launch of Sammy Emerald (SAMI), the program's new AI Sports Information Director. SAMI was created to expand coverage and recognition for Seahawk athletes in a region where media resources are limited, giving the South Walton community professional-quality game stories, press releases, and spotlights directly through the team's official website.
SAMI was built in partnership with NOVA3.ai, an AI consulting and solutions agency with expertise in applying advanced language models to sports. NOVA3 previously developed VERA for Vballrecruiter, a national volleyball recruiting platform. That project laid the foundation for SAMI's creation, blending volleyball-specific expertise with cutting-edge AI to serve athletes and programs in meaningful ways.
Head Coach Meaghan Allen welcomed the innovation, saying, "SAMI allows us to showcase our athletes in new ways. Our players deserve recognition for their hard work both on and off the court, and this gives our program a consistent voice to highlight their performances, academics, and the culture we are building at South Walton."
Riley Davis, Senior Project Manager at NOVA3, added, "Our work building VERA with Vballrecruiter gave us a unique foundation in volleyball. Creating SAMI with South Walton has been an exciting step, not just for the program, but for schools across the country that struggle to get consistent coverage outside of sports like football. This is a fun and practical way to solve a real problem and to highlight incredible athletes who might otherwise be overlooked."
SAMI will generate match recaps, press releases, and athlete features for southwaltonvolleyball.com, using data from HUDL, MaxPreps, and official coach stat books. SAMI's role is strictly media and recognition, ensuring accurate reporting, consistent storytelling, and equitable coverage for every varsity athlete across the season.
About South Walton Volleyball: South Walton High School competes in FHSAA Class 4A District 1 under head coach Meaghan Allen. The program has established itself as a consistent playoff contender, reaching the Class 4A Elite 8 last season and winning five straight district championships since 2019.
