South Walton Advances to District Championship with Sweep of Fort Walton Beach

SANTA ROSA BEACH, Fla. — South Walton volleyball continued its postseason momentum Tuesday night, sweeping Fort Walton Beach 3–0 (25–8, 25–16, 25–9) to advance to the District 1–4A Championship. The Seahawks improved to 17–7 overall with a dominant semifinal performance at the Hawk’s Nest.

Senior middle blocker Jordyn Swift led the way with 10 kills on a .833 hitting percentage, adding 3 aces, 2 solo blocks, and 2 block assists in a complete two-way showing. Junior outside hitter Maci Jones matched Swift’s offensive output with 10 kills, 6 digs, and 8 perfect serve receives.

Junior setter Evelyn Brandman paced the offense masterfully with 35 assists, 9 digs, and 6 aces, controlling tempo and distribution across all three sets. Senior libero Kamryn Garcia added 9 digs and 3 service aces, while senior defensive specialist Annabelle Centeno anchored serve receive with 9 receptions and 5 digs.

Senior outside hitter Ella Driggers recorded 7 kills, 3 digs, and a block assist, and sophomore middle blocker Ava Hummel added 5 kills on a .571 hitting percentage with one block assist. Junior opposite Corinne O’Connell contributed 5 kills and a block assist, and junior defensive specialist Lindsay McMahan added a kill in back-row rotation.

As a team, South Walton totaled 50 kills and 14 service aces, combining clean execution with front-line control to limit Fort Walton Beach to single digits in two of three sets.

South Walton (17–7, 2–0 District 1) will host Bay High School on Thursday, October 16, at the Hawk’s Nest in the District 1–4A Championship match.
